MyTwoCents

Here's my two cents about "Be The Change"

The whole meaning of it, the entire message is about breaking down social barriers, and accepting everyone. Okay, fairly good message to send. But why do you have to be invited to go? They choose a certain group of people to attend Be The Change where they (the certain special group) learn about acceptance. Only the special people get to go? Only the chosen people get to learn about acceptance? That seems a bit hypocritical to me.

Now you might just say, "Oh well, if everyone went to be the change on the same day, then it would be overcrowded and just be a big disaster." and I understand that. If the whole entire school went to be the change at the same time it'd really suck. So there's one reason you have to invite certain people, but guess what? In all of my 3 complete years of going to Lone Peak, I have never once been invited. Not once. You think there would be this system where everyone should be invited to go at least once, but apparently that's not true. I'm not special enough to get an invitation? I'm not important enough?

I just don't understand. And I'd love for someone to explain.

  1. Perhaps it should be me.

About 75 new students every time. Twice in the fall, twice in the spring. That's 300 students per year. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors. 2500 students total.

I'm confused thinking about the math, mostly because I'm watching Scrubs right now and not really paying attention.

But I guess I'm just saying that most students won't get invited.

But I get what you're saying.
